LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUEST POLICY

Effective Date: June 2026

Purpose

GoView is committed to protecting the privacy, security, and legal rights of our customers while supporting lawful public safety and law enforcement activities.

This Law Enforcement Request Policy describes how GoView responds to requests from law enforcement agencies, government entities, and regulatory authorities for customer information, video recordings, account data, and other records maintained by GoView.

Guiding Principles

GoView follows the following principles when responding to government requests:

  • Respect for customer privacy

  • Compliance with applicable laws

  • Protection of civil liberties

  • Transparency whenever legally permitted

  • Cooperation with legitimate public safety needs

  • Limitation of disclosures to only what is legally required

Customer Ownership of Data

Unless otherwise specified by contract, customers retain ownership of their data, including:

  • Video recordings

  • Images

  • AI-generated events and alerts

  • License plate recognition data

  • Access control records

  • Incident reports

  • System logs

GoView does not claim ownership of customer-generated data.

Requirement for Legal Process

GoView generally requires valid legal process before disclosing customer information.

Examples may include:

  • Search warrants

  • Court orders

  • Subpoenas

  • Administrative orders authorized by law

  • Other legally binding requests

Requests must be issued by a government authority with appropriate jurisdiction.

GoView reserves the right to review all requests for legal sufficiency and may reject, challenge, narrow, or seek clarification regarding requests that are overbroad, vague, or inconsistent with applicable law.

Emergency Requests

GoView may voluntarily disclose information without legal process when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent death, serious bodily harm, or significant threats to public safety.

Emergency requests should include:

  • Agency name

  • Requesting officer or official

  • Contact information

  • Description of the emergency

  • Explanation of the immediate threat

  • Specific information requested

GoView reserves the right to require verification of any emergency request.

Requests for Video Footage

Where GoView acts as a service provider and not the owner of recorded footage, GoView may direct law enforcement agencies to the customer that owns or controls the requested data.

GoView may not be able to independently authorize disclosure of customer-owned recordings.

Customer Notification

Unless prohibited by law, court order, or emergency circumstances, GoView may notify affected customers before disclosing customer information.

Notification may include:

  • Nature of the request

  • Requesting agency

  • Categories of information requested

  • Relevant deadlines

Notification may be delayed or withheld when prohibited by law or when doing so could compromise an active investigation.

Data Preservation Requests

GoView may preserve existing customer data upon receipt of a lawful preservation request.

Preservation does not constitute disclosure.

Preserved information may only be disclosed upon receipt of appropriate legal process.

International Requests

GoView generally requires foreign government requests to be submitted through appropriate legal channels recognized under United States law.

Requests originating outside the United States may be subject to additional review.
