OPTICS & CAMERAS
Camera Optics are an important consideration when building a mobile surveillance trailer. Because mobile surveillance is designed to move and adapt, the ability to adjust and reposition cameras is of high importance. Our security professionals help you navigate the thousands of options available. Here are a few of the options we can use to customize your systems.
- PTZ stands for Pan, Tilt, Zoom. A PTZ camera has the ability for a remote operator to physically control the camera.
- THERMAL cameras convert temperature to a color gradient and use this to produce an image. The image you see from a thermal camera is a graphical representation of the temperature of the objects in the view. Thermal cameras are ideal for detecting living objects under difficult viewing conditions.
- LPR stand for license plate recognition. LPR cameras help to filter out glare from the license plates and also use a fast shutter speed to produce clear images at high object speeds.
- FISHEYE cameras provide a 360 degree view around the trailer and help protect the trailer by alerting to any suspicious activity in close proximity to the GoView surveillance unit. They are also useful for quickly surveying a large area during an intrusion.
- AUTO-TRACK is a feature specific to PTZ cameras. When the camera detects a human or vehicle, the camera will zoom in and lock on the subject. It will then follow the subject until the person or vehicle leaves the area.
- NDAA & TAA are a set of laws applicable to Federal Government agencies and contractors. These laws prohibit the use of devices made by specific manufacturers. GoView builds NDAA compliant systems. Click this link to LEARN MORE.
LIGHTS
Lights are used as tool to provide supplemental lighting for better viewing and also to let intruders know they have been detected and deter them away from the site. Lights can be activated with automation and also controlled manually by a remote operator and from our mobile app.
- STROBE LIGHTS. Our standard trailers come with 2 sets of strobe lights: on the equipment box at the top of the mast. These strobe can be controlled independently and can be configured to sync, or to provide different programmable flashing patterns. Additional strobes can be added and also various flash patterns and light intensities are available. This is useful when the trailer will be deployed near occupied residential homes.
- FLOOD LIGHTS of various sizes and lumen values can be added to the top box and also the lower trailer depending on the purpose and need.
- INFRA-RED LIGHTS are typically integrated into the cameras and are used to provide night vision when there is not enough visible light. Supplemental IR can be added to cover longer range applications. A feature of IR light is it does not produce visible light. An advantage or IR lighting is a lower power consumption than LED flood lights.
SOFTWARE
The software on a system will determine the user interface and the location of the recorded video. Our system health monitoring software is also a key software that fully monitors all units. GoView uses both open source and proprietary video analytics which is the basis for our best in class platform. GoView's end user platform is powerful and simple to use. You will be amazed at how easy it is to connect and stream live video, search previous video, export video events, and more.
- CORE VMS or video management software is installed on a server running on board the mobile surveillance unit. The VMS compiles video from multiple cameras and then provides a user interface to access the video feed.
- VIDEO AI is a broad term to define software programs used to analyze video streams and create metadata. The metadata is database of information found in the video that can be quickly searched. An example of video AI is LPR or license plate recognition. The LPR AI detects a plate and then converts the plate to text and numbers that is stored in a database as metadata. You can then search for a plate number and pull a list of all video associated with that plate number. You can also create rules to run other automation. LEARN MORE
- CLOUD is a term that refers to where the video is stored and accessed. Cloud simply means "a computer in a remote data center" You essentially rent space on a remote server to store and access your video data. READ MORE
- EDGE ANALYTICS refers to software running on the camera. The software performs video analytics at the camera. When a processor performs video analytics on a centralized server, this can require a large amount of processing power. In many cases we perform video analytics on the camera and then the camera sends the metadata to the server with the video.
- MOBILE APPS are available for both Apple and Android devices in the appropriate app store.
- CHOOSE YOU OWN VMS is an option we provide to clients who want to run their own specialized VMS platform on the server. We have created systems running VMS programs such as Milestone, Exacq, Avigilon, OpenEye, and many others.
NETWORK
We have several options for network communications. We typically recommend either LTE or 5G but we can accommodate other needs or requests.
- 4G LTE - In most cases 4G and LTE speeds are more than adequate to run all of our services. A 4G commercial router is currently more cost effective than a 5G router.
- 5G - Provided upon request as an upgrade.
- SATELLITE - we partner with Starlink to provide satellite internet. Starlink gives us the option to deploy systems in remote areas where there is no cell phone coverage. It can also run as primary or failover service for mission critical applications.
- LONG RANGE WIFI - For some clients WIFI is a good option because of the proximity to a local network that we reach by a line-of-site communication.
